PIATT FAMILY FOUNDATION
Working together to support important causes that improve the quality of life for those in need in the Pittsburgh community.
Our Mission
The mission of the Piatt Family Foundation is to provide aid to communities, organizations, families and individuals that are in financial, medical, environmental or civil distress through the curation of fundraising events and benefit festivals.
Pittsburgh is a city that thrives on connection and coming together in times of need. The Piatt Family Foundation is deeply rooted in the Pittsburgh community and committed to its growth and sustainability. We understand that our community gets stronger when we work together to ensure that all people have access to the resources that they need, so the Piatt Family Foundation brings people together to raise money for organizations and initiatives that create opportunities and positive impacts for our neighbors that need it most.
Our vision is to be the leader of sustainable development in the region.
Previous initiatives
The Piatt Family Foundation raises money through events and festivals for a variety of causes that directly impact the people in our community. Benefits have included:
Piatt Family Foundation’s Hope for Hospitality Workers Relief Fund to provide direct support to hospitality, food and beverage workers unemployed during the pandemic.
Our partners at Piatt Sothebys International Realty donated $150 from every closing to raise $27,150 for the Community Takeout Initiative to feed our communities and support hospitality workers. Financial support was given directly to restaurants to prepare takeout meals to be distributed to those facing food insecurity. By providing this direct support, restaurants can keep their staff employed and their doors open.
412 Food Rescue to combat pervasive food insecurity for families throughout Southwest Pennsylvania.
Cancer Research & the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance to promote research at the leading University of Pittsburgh into the disease that affects all people or their loved ones.
We continue to look for programs and organizations to collaborate with!
Annual Events
Rock, Reggae & Relief Benefit Festival
Since 2017, the Piatt Family Foundation hosts a Caribbean-street party-inspired festival in Downtown Pittsburgh. Each festival brings an exciting line-up of national musicians and local rock legends together with fans from all over to celebrate music and diversity in hope, energy and positive vibes to support our local community. Each year, the festival raises money to support an important cause in Pittsburgh. Visit rockreggaerelief.com for more information.
